Do The Physiological Society of India, an academic organization of the Physiologists, was inaugurated by group of eminent people on 13th July, 1934 for promoting the Physiological Sciences and its utilization in India. The Rules and Regulations of the Society was constituted by the First Executive Committee under the guidance of Sir Nilratan Sircar, Prof. S.C. Mahalanobis and Prof. N.M. Basu and was duly adopted at the Second General Meeting of the Society held on 26th September, 1934. The constitution has been further revised and adopted at the Annual General Meeting of the Society held on 5th March, 1966.Founder Members of the Physiological Society of India
